BR-18 — E-Invoice Validation Rule & Fix

Fixture ID: taxRepEmpty · XPath: /ubl:Invoice/cac:TaxRepresentativeParty/cac:PartyName/cbc:Name

1. Why This Rule Triggers (Diagnostic Message)

The invoice carries a seller tax representative group (BG-11), so it must carry the tax representative's name (BT-62). A fiscal representative is the party that answers to the tax authority for this supply in a member state where the seller is not established — the name is what makes that liability attach to somebody. An unnamed representative leaves the VAT with nobody to account for it, which is the situation the whole group exists to prevent.

2. How to Fix BR-18

Set taxRepresentative.name to the legal name of the fiscal representative, or remove the taxRepresentative object if the seller is registered directly.

3. Valid Code / Payload Example

"taxRepresentative": { "name": "Fiscal Rep France SARL", "vatId": "FR12345678901" }
