BR-19 — E-Invoice Validation Rule & Fix

Fixture ID: taxRepNoAddress · XPath: /ubl:Invoice/cac:TaxRepresentativeParty/cac:PostalAddress

1. Why This Rule Triggers (Diagnostic Message)

The invoice carries a seller tax representative group (BG-11), so it must carry the representative's postal address (BG-12). The address is not contact decoration: it is the evidence of *where* the representative is established, and therefore which tax administration the representation is effective in. A representative with no address cannot be shown to be established in the member state whose VAT is being accounted for.

2. How to Fix BR-19

Set taxRepresentative.address with at least city, postalCode and countryCode — the same PostalAddress shape the seller and buyer use.

3. Valid Code / Payload Example

"taxRepresentative": { "name": "Fiscal Rep France SARL", "vatId": "FR12345678901", "address": { "city": "Lyon", "postalCode": "69001", "countryCode": "FR" } }
